WEEK 2 (7.8.2017 - 11.8.2017)

The first briefing of FYP is started in week 2. We are required to give a proper title to our project and registered it online in week 6. The briefing is also about all the things that we have to know about the FYP for this semester such as assessment for this FYP and what we are required to do to fulfill the requirement needed.

STUDYING BACK PAIN
We have made a research regarding the benefits of having the back massage.  As you know, back pain happen almost to everyone at some point. Human back has so many hard-working muscles and ligaments that it's easy to experience strain and pain in different areas. According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, back pain is the second most common neurological ailment in the world. Studies shows that people who experiencing back pain received greater relief from soft tissue manipulation and massage than from a placebo after they had their therapeutic massage.
The diagram shows that the most trigger point for the back pain that have been experiencing by people.

For this project, the idea is for the people who always have the back pain, which is a jacket that have the main function of therapeutic massage to relieve the pain. This jacket is being control by Arduino UNO for the massage and we are work on for the coding of the Arduino UNO with the necessary circuit that will be needed for the massage.

Heat therapy (thermotherapy) application can also help provide lower back pain relief through several mechanisms: Heat therapy dilates the blood vessels of the muscles surrounding the lumbar spine. This process increases the flow of oxygen and nutrients to the muscles, helping to heal the damaged tissueWhile for Cold Compression Therapy (cyrotherapy) , it combines two of the principles of R.I.C.E. (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) to reduce pain and swelling from a sports or activity injury to soft tissues.
